Meet the G2 Green Earth Film Festival Jury

Annie White
Annie White is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, photographer and founder of PlayBow Studios. She has worked on projects for National Geographic WILD, VisionHawk Productions, the Yellowstone Wolf Project, the Humane Society and other non-profit groups. Currently she’s finishing her thesis film, “A Wolf Named Tiger,” for Montana State University’s MFA program in Science & Natural History Filmmaking. Before becoming a filmmaker, Annie studied animal behavior and conservation biology at the University of Colorado and then spent 10 years working as an educator, writer and field biologist. She also traveled with Mission:Wolf’s Ambassador Wolves for two years, bringing live wolves into classrooms and museums across the country in educational programs.

Deia Schlosberg
Deia Schlosberg is a producer, director and adventurer based in Brooklyn, New York. Deia earned her Master’s in Science & Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University in Bozeman, and her thesis film, Backyard, has won numerous awards, including two student Emmys (Best Documentary and the Bricker Humanitarian Award), and screened at film festivals around the world. Deia’s background is in environmental education and visual arts, as well as in expeditions, and she was awarded a 2009 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award for a two-year, 7,800-mile through-hike of the Andes Mountains. Deia is currently producing the next film by director Josh Fox (Gasland and Gasland 2) through Pale Blue Dot Media. The film, still untitled, focuses on climate change and community value systems. It will premiere in early 2016 and is slated for broadcast on HBO.

Jason Fitzpatrick
Jason Fitzpatrick is a photographer, filmmaker and writer based in Los Angeles, California. He earned his degree from Loyola Marymount University Film School and has been working in the film industry for more than 20 years. Among his credits – Director of Yahoo’s Prime Time in No Time hosted by Frank Nicotero and Director/Executive Producer of Mile…Mile And a Half, which can be found on Netflix, and was featured at the G2 Green Earth Film Festival in 2014.

Michael Kerns
Michael Kerns is a photographer based in Los Angeles, California. His images have been on display at several of the leading museums around the globe including the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the British Museum of Natural History. His Abstract Reality series has been featured in Das Spiegel, The Guardian, Saveous Magazine in India and this October, will appear in National Geographic. Michael also supports various conservation efforts throughout the world, working closely with the International Reptile Conservation Foundation, The San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory, Pandemonium Aviaries, and the United States Geological Survey. Michael Miner
Michael Miner is an award-winning photographer, screenwriter and director based in Los Angeles, California. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Theater, and a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he wrote, directed and shot award-winning shorts and features. He is the co-writer of the 1987 smash hit Robocop, as well as its 2014 reboot, for which he received the Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Screenplay and a nomination for Best Screenplay by the Mystery Writers of America.

Michael has written screenplays for Oliver Stone, Sylvester Stallone and Michael Douglas, and he is currently developing a screen adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. He has taught screenwriting at the Maine Photographic Workshops, University of Hawaii, Southeastern Media Institute, Praxis Center for Screenwriting in Vancouver, University of California at Santa Barbara, California State University at Los Angeles and the InsideOut Writers Program for incarcerated juveniles in Los Angeles County. Michael also works and exhibits as a large format landscape photographer. He spent the months of January 2010 and October 2014 working as an artist-in-residence at the Grand Canyon for the National Park Service. His images are in hundreds of private collections and on display in galleries around the country.
