The LMU Center for Urban Resilience (CURes) is hosting its fourth annual four-day urban ecology professional institute on the campus of Loyola Marymount University. Designed to create synergistic research and teaching opportunities, the institute will introduce teachers and informal science providers to our urban ecology curriculum and inquiry based research activities designed for 4th-12th grade students.  Projects will include urban gardens and hydroponics, insect and bird biodiversity, public health/water quality, environmental justice and urban planning.
